Snubbed Andhra Cong MPs to resign today?

PNS

After the disappointing and negative reply of AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh to the Seema-Andhra MPs and delegation of their wives, the Congress MPs are now under tremendous pressure to quit.

The Congress MPs from the two regions, fighting a losing battle against Telangana State were told by Digvijay Singh that the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh was final and if they wish so they were free to quit. They got a shocking reply from Singh when they met him and threatened to quit if the decision to divide Andhra Pradesh was not withdrawn by the Congress party.

A day later, Singh repeated the same reply when the wives of the Congress MPs and MlAs from Seema-Andhra met him to make case for united Andhra Pradesh. “It is a waste of time,” he told them and advised them to focus their efforts on getting a good financial package. later, the wives took their case to  President Pranab Mukherjee.

During the last week, Seema-Andhra leaders got several such snubs. While Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde delivered a shock by saying that the note on Telangana was ready, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting said that there was no question of going back on Telangana.

With so many setbacks, Seema-Andhra MPs are likely to submit resignations when they meet lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Monday. Before that the leaders from Seema-Andhra will meet in New Delhi and discuss the situation.

It is a foregone conclusion that Congress MP from Anantapur Venkatrami Reddy will press his resignation as he has reportedly made up his decision to quit the Congress and join the YSR Congress.

The others MPs, whose names are doing rounds in this context are l Rajagopal, who was attacked by the supporters of the united State on Saturday, SPY Reddy, A Sai Pratap Reddy, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, V Arun Kumar and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao.
