In a bizarre incident, the skeleton of a minor boy was discovered inside the groundwater tank in an under construction home in East Delhi after he went missing in 2008. What is galling is the fact the boy had drowned in the ground water tank and nobody knew about and the police claimed to have launched a manhunt to trace the boy. The mortal remains to the missing boy were found on Thursday, East district police officials said on Thursday. The boy had gone missing some five years ago and a case of kidnapping was registered at Mandawali police station.

The skeleton was discovered inside the water tank of the house located at West Vinod Nagar in east Delhi on Thursday morning by a labourer. Police said a relative of the owner of the house in question claimed it to be their son’s skeleton who went missing for the past five years. The shoe of the boy was also recovered inside the tank.“We have sent the skeleton for the forensic examination. The claims were being examined. We have sent the skeleton for the forensic examination. The claims were being examined,” said DCP, East Ajay Kumar.

It may be recalled that the five-year-old Himanshu had gone missing when he came to the same house which is owned by his aunt. Himanshu’s father Shrichand told the police that that his son had gone to see Ramlila, but he did not return home. A hunt was launched but the boy could not be found.
