The BJP is contesting the crucial Bihar Assembly election in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and now the party chief Amit Shah has taken up the cudgels to personally monitor the poll strategy of the party. He held a series of meetings with senior leaders and party workers and on Wednesday addressed a workers meeting at Begusarai where he repeatedly appealed to them to sink their differences and forget the complaints and put in their hard work for the formation of a BJP Government in Bihar.
“Forget all the differences, disputes and complaints, get united and work for the victory of the party as a committed worker. What is important is the party not the individuals. Irrespective of who is the face ensure his victory under the leadership of Narendra Modi,” Shah called upon them while claiming that a wave stronger than 2014 was sweeping Bihar.
Shah’s address had two aspects; one to mollify the rebel and sulking leaders and workers and another to train his guns at chief rivals Nitish Kumar and lalu Prasad. “In the name of secularism, the entire so-called secular team will descend here but we as workers of a Rashtra Bhakt party have to frustrate their designs. Our unity will ensure the vinash (elimination) of our rivals. The defeat of lalu and Nitish will usher Bihar into an era of all round development,” said Shah.
The BJP president also tried to convince the party workers that BJP was an ardent supporter of reservation of different social classes and said lalu and Nitish were uttering `nonsense’ over this issue and confuse the people. “There is absolutely no scope of changing the reservation policy and there is no change in BJP’s stand. Our party is committed for the welfare and progress of all sections of society without any bias. lalu is speaking white lies,” he added.
Taking a dig at RJD supremo lalu Prasad, Shah said he has no concern for the backwards and Dalits and concerned only for his family. He referred that lalu started his election campaign from Raghopur, which will go to polls in third phase, because his son is contesting from there even as Maha gathbandhan candidates in first and second phase are waiting for him to come and campaign.
During the closed door meetings with central Ministers, MPs, office bearers and State leaders Shah gave them just one task: to quell the rebellion by mollifying the sulking party men. He took feedback of the unhappy and sulking leaders and workers of each constituency. He asked all the MPs and MlCs as well as senior leaders to move to their respective areas and work for the NDA candidates. Sources said Shah was keen to know about the regions in which Samajwadi Party led Secular Front has strong presence.
The Union Ministers apart from those belonging to Bihar are: Ananth Kumar, JP Nadda, Santosh Singh Tomar, Manoj Sinha, Dharmendra Pradhan, Santosh Gangwar, Kalraj Mishra and Sadhvi Niranjana Jyoti who are part of Shah’s war room.
