Calling for a change of guards in left-ruled Tripura, BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday sounded the poll bugle in the State and said that the change of guard is needed for the sake of development and employment in the State.

Shah who addressed two public rallies in the State—Udaipur and Ambassa and shouted the slogan of “Chalo Paltai” (meaning Come, let’s Change) and said that the BJP if comes to power will not only bring in development but also institute probes against all the corruption cases in the State including the multi-crore rose valley chit fund scam and assured to give 7th pay commission to the State Government employees instead of the existing 4th pay commission.

“We want change not of Chief Minister or of left Government in Tripura. We want to change the lives of the people in the State for better and we want to change the poverty. Despite the fact that the left Government was in power for 25 years, the State does not have 24 hour electricity supply, there is no road, employment, and women are still unsafe,” said Shah while addressing a rally in Udaipur in Tripura.

“What the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar led Government has given to Tripura is the rose valley chit fund scam, where hard earned money of people are siphoned off,” Shah said.

Shah also took a dig at the left Government for resorting to violence during the polls and said that seven BJP workers had been killed in Tripura in last one year. “We are not afraid of violence. The more you spread the dirt of violence, more lotus will bloom. If you spread violence, people will give befitting reply. Don’t be scared of CPI-M’s violence. left has ruled Kerala and West Bengal for long time but still there are huge numbers of unemployment in those State,” said the BJP president.

“Out of total crime committed in Tripura around 86 per cent crime is committed against women. Cadres of the left Front is involved in these crime. There is no conviction as the Government belongs to them,” he said.

“Out of the 33 lakh population in Tripura, 7 lakh are unemployed. There is no health facility in the State. While the country is free from malaria, Tripura still have malaria cases.  Union Health Ministry sought scheme for Rs 130 crore project from Tripura. However the Government did not give any scheme,” he said.

The BJP president said that High court has directed for CBI probe into the chit fund scam. “However the State Government did nothing about it. The countdown for the ruling left Front Government has started, we will spare none and bring to justice those involved in the scam even if they are hiding beneath the earth. If probe is done whole council of Minister of the left Front Government will be in Tripura Central jail,” Shah said.

Shah further assured to pay State Government employees 7th pay commission as soon as BJP Chief Minister is sworn in and added that it is deprivation that the Government employees in Tripura are still drawing their salaries as per 4th pay commission.

“While per day wage of worker is Rs 340, In Tripura worker are getting Rs 170.  The State do not celebrate birthday anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Subash Chandra Bose and does not name airport after the king. However, it celebrates birthday of Stalin,” Shah rued.

Shah said that in 13th finance Commission, Tripura got Rs 7,283 crore while in 14th finance commission Tripura got whooping Rs  25,000 Crore. “Where has this money gone, it is time to say bye-bye to red flag. Another Rs 17,000 Crore was given to the State for different scheme however money did not reach people,” he added.
