Claiming that BJP is not a political outfit but a party that follows the principle of cultural nationalism, party president Amit Shah appealed to the party cadre to make people aware about stance taken by other political parties on JNU issue.

“For the last six days, I have been asking Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to clarify whether he supported anti-national slogans raised in JNU. But he has chosen to keep mum on the issue,” Shah said adding that Gandhi had supported the anti-national slogans saying ‘it was freedom of speech of the students’.

Addressing party workers after inaugurating the renovated State party office in lucknow on Thursday, Shah said that the Congress has no answers to our questions on nationalism because they have sided by the anti-national forces.

“BJP will never compromise on the issue of nationalism. In democracy there is no place for such anti-national elements,” the BJP chief asserted.

Appealing to the workers and leaders to go to the villages and every household in the State, Shah exhorted them to apprise people of the conspiracy of anti-national elements and how the BJP was countering these forces. He said that BJP is not just a political party with an aim to gain power but it has a certain ideology which is based on nationalism.
