She further said that it would be appreciable to provide service at doorstep facility to aged taxpayers; this will help in enhanced tax collection. It is worthwhile to mention that during 2017-18 out of total 4,44,000 taxpayers 1,23,045 taxpayers were in the age group of sixty years and more, she added.
Rai also stated that a new scheme will be introduced on 1st December 2018 for the Financial Year 2019-20. Under the concept of service at doorstep the employees of the department will visit the residence of aged taxpayers for getting their property tax return filled and accept payment, she said.
