Secretariat row: Cong seeks Guv's intervention

Mounting pressure on the KCR Government against the planned demolition of Telangan State Secretariat buildings in Hyderabad, senior Congress leaders on Monday sought the intervention of the Governor ESl Narasimhan.

The delegation on Monday  met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum demanding that he should direct the Government to desist from demolishing the buildings which were in good condition.

“The planned to demolish the buildings and construct a new Secretariat is nothing but a waste of public money”, the State Congress President Uttam Kumar Reddy told the media after meeting the Governor.

He also opposed the idea of shifting the Secretariat offices to other buildings till the new Secretariat was built. He said that CM K Chandrsekhar Rao was wasting precious resources just for his whims and fancies.
