Even as 50 special police teams were looking for him all over West Godavari district, the mysterious ‘Injection Psycho’ continues to be elusive.
But district superintendent of police Bhaskar Bhushan added a new twist to the case saying all the reports of injection attacks on girls and women after August 26 were wrong. While he did not elaborate why he thinks so, there were speculations that the police had in fact nabbed the much wanted psycho and was questioning him.
Bhaskar Bhushan said that only two of the 13 victims of his attacks were pierced by injection needle and 11 others were physically assaulted. “The medical and forensic examinations of the two needles recovered did not show any poison, bacteria or any other harmful material,” he said adding that perhaps the man was trying to create a scare among the people. Police have released a sketch of the heavily built man in his 30s who was using a motorcycle to commit the crime. Police have also announced a reward of `1 lakh to those helping in his arrest.
