A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a Class IV employee inside the school premises on Wednesday morning. The police later arrested the accused. According to the police, the incident took place on Wednesday around 11 am.

The victim appeared for her exam and left for her residence. While she was on her way she realised that she left one of her stationary items inside the classroom and returned to the school.

The security guard later accosted her and took her to a secluded area inside the school and raped her. The girl somehow managed to reach home and out of fear did not reveal anything to her parents. She was in complete state of shock and later narrated the ordeal to her parents. Police was informed and a medical examination of the girl was conducted which confirmed rape.

A case of rape and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences was registered at Seelampur police station. The victim’s family alleged that after the incident was reported the school authorities initially tried to protect the accused.

In another incident a woman who was in a relationship with a man for the last seven years accused him of raping her at several occasions in New Delhi district’s Buddha Garden area.

In her complaint the woman alleged that the accused identified as Pradeep had befriended her saying that he needed a friend to show him around the city as he was new to the Capital.

“The woman claimed that a week back he asked her to accompany him for an interview but took her to Buddha garden where he made her have a drink laced with sedatives and raped her. He also clicked her pictures and started blackmailing her. The woman has also alleged that he extorted money from her and demanded sexual favour,” said a police official.

Even though the victim asked him to marry her, he refused on some pretext or the other. A zero FIR was registered at Gulabhi Bagh police station and was later on Thursday evening transferred to the Chankayapuri police station which is the place of occurrence. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Chankayapuri police station.
