SC stays Guj HC order on judges' plot allotment

PNS
The Supreme Court on Wednesday put a stop to the proceedings initiated by the Gujarat High Court after it issued notices to 27 former and sitting judges of High Courts and Supreme Court over alleged illegalities in allotment of residential plots situated in Ahmedabad.
The Bench, headed by Chief Justice Hl Dattu, stayed further proceedings in the case and sought response from Gujarat High Court, Gujarat Government, Ahmedabad Collector and Municipal Commissioner and the Secretary of Neetibagh Judges Cooperative Housing Society. In addition, the Bench allowed the Gujarat HC Advocates Bar Association to intervene but directed deletion of names of all 27 judges listed as allottees in the petition.
