Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who is serving a term of three and a half years in Pune’s Yerwada prison in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case, was on Monday granted a 14-day extension of furlough by the State prison administration.

Sanjay, who had earlier been set free on a 14-day furlough from Pune’s Yerwada central prison on October 1, had applied for a 14-day extension of leave from the authorities on medical grounds. The administration heeded his request, before the deadline for his return to the prison ended.

Apart from spending time with his family members, Sanjay is expected to undergo a minor surgery for an ailment in legs, during his extended period of furlough. The 54-year-old Sanjay had earlier been granted bail on his good conduct inside the jail.
