The top brass of the RSS, BJP and other affiliates of the Parivar will have a brainstorming session on September 8and 9 to discuss coordination for the forthcoming electoral challenges and take a call on the crucial issue of prime ministerial candidate.
This would be the second such meeting in near future when top BJP and RSS leaders will have a closed-door meeting. No consensus had emerged from a similar meeting between RSS and BJP leaders here on August 1. BJP leaders were divided in equal strength on the issue of having a PM candidate and the RSS had left it to the party chief Rajnath Singh to evolve a broad consensus.
Meanwhile, sources said, RSS’ second-in-command Suresh Bhaiyaji Joshi had a closed-door meeting with lK Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh at the residence of the former Deputy Prime Minister on Sunday to sense the mood of the party on issues confronting it. Sources claimed the RSS brass was equally worried about reports of factionalism in the party in States going to polls later this year, particularly Delhi and Rajasthan. At the brainstorming session, BJP leaders are also expected to share with the RSS leadership their feedback about Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, where elections will be held later this year.
