After the murder of its activist Rudresh in Bengaluru recently, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has sought a ban on Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).

The Bengaluru police on Friday arrested four people for their alleged involvement in the murder of RSS Mandal Prabhandak Rudresh. They are suspected to be part of these organisations. V Nagaraj, RSS Kshetriya Sanghachalak in charge of three southern States said in Bengaluru on Friday that the RSS will seek a ban on PFI and SDPI if the members of these organisations were found involved in the murder of Rudresh. He said, “If it is found that organisations like PFI and SDPI are behind the larger conspiracy then we will seek the ban of these organisations from the centre.” He thanked Bengaluru police for apprehending four suspects in Rudresh murder case who was hacked to death in  broad daylight in a busy street in Bengaluru on October 16.

The RSS zonal chief said it is an open secret that both PFI and SDPI have links with the dreaded Islamic State (IS) terrorist bloc and its sympathisers. He said RSS workers were not involved in violence and if found they should be punished according to law.

Holding the Communists responsible for instigating the political violence in Kerala, he  said the Centre and the State Government should urgently take action against the perpetrators and ensure that rule of law prevails. “Government records and various judicial and police reports clearly established the fact that the Communists started violence in Kerala, not only against RSS but also against those who did not accept their ideology,” he added.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had recently targeted BJP and RSS for the violence in the politically volatile Kannur district of the State, saying the saffron party and its outfits were “deliberately” causing breach of peace in the district.

“Indulging in violence, brainwashing and hoodwinking is the method of Communists, but they don’t know it does not work anymore,” Nagaraj said.

He also asked the Kerala Government and the Centre to take appropriate action urgently against the perpetrators of violence and necessary measures to ensure the rule of law in Kerala.

“Actually the law and order is a State subject, but when the killings are of terrorist dimensions in various States including Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, we request the Central Government also to pitch in because it threatens the integrity of the country," he said.

He reiterated RSS’s stand on  Genetically-Modified crops of certain varieties and said they will oppose it unless some trials take place and an opinion is given thereafter.

“Unless some trials take place and an opinion is given, we want to oppose it (GM crops) and should not be brought into the country," he said.
