As the month of December nears its end, parents of three-year-olds across the national Capital need to tighten their seatbelts as nursery admissions have begun in some schools. Though only a few schools have opened their admissions so far, most of the schools are expected to start term by December 20 as also mentioned by the Schools Action Committee guidelines released recently. However, with the National Progressive Schools’ Conference conducting their governing body meeting on Wednesday, the final dates for most schools will be out before this weekend.
So far only three schools have reportedly started their nursery admissions. The Modern School Kundli and Deepali along with Ryan International Rohini have started their admissions. However, while Ryan International School’s website shows that admissions have begun, the process is not
mentioned online as the
link asks parents to visit the school for details.
Other than that most schools have released their criteria and will start admissions post-December 20. The Indian School was the first to come out with their criteria and declare that the admissions will begin on December 20. Their criteria includes only three parameters, neighbourhood which has 50 points varying with the distance (within zero to eight kilometres — 50 points, between nine to 12 kilometres — 40 points and over 13 kilometres — 20 points), sibling with 30 points and first child with 20 points.
Other than that Gyan Bharti School, Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Cambridge School, Hansraj Model School Punjabi Bagh, Rukmini Devi Public School and DAV Rohini have released their admission dates.
However, these schools have all said that these dates are applicable until the directorate says otherwise.
