The Railways has decided to set up the Malaviya Chair for Railway Technology at IIT (BHU), Varanasi to help in development of new materials to be used in all assets of the organisation with an endowment fund of Rs5 crore for the purpose. The project implementation in the fields of development of new materials for use in various assets of the Railways will form part of the functioning of Malaviya Chair.
