UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring remunerative price to the farmers of their agriculture produce. The CM in a letter to the Prime Minister has also requested that the Minimum support price (MSP) for the Kharif crop of 2015 and Rabi crop of 2015-16 be fixed as per the recommendations made by the National farmer’s commission and the suggestions given by the UP Government. CM said there was wide difference between the MSP announced by the Center and the suggestions given by the UP Govt. He said the MSP announced by the Center for the Kharif crop is far too low and against the recommendations by the National farmer’s commission. The CM said the farmers will face economic crisis if they are denied remunerative price for their agricultural produce.
