Protesting the move by Cabinet over Telangana issue, HRD Minister MM Pallam Raju has tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister. Raju did not turn up to the HRD Ministry and all his appointments were taken by colleague MoS Shashi Tharoor.
“I met the Prime Minister and offered to resign during the Cabinet meet on Tuesday but he advised not to take a hasty decision. But after taking a second thought I decided to resign,” Raju said.
Raju, who hails from Seemandhra region, has been strongly opposed to the division of Andhra Pradesh and has been critical of the way the Government was going about on the issue.
