Raj CM OK’s special relief scheme for exemption in penalty, interest on stamp duty

PNS

Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal for special relief scheme for relaxation in penalty and interest on the amount of stamp duty in pending  stamp cases at various levels during the current financial year.  The scheme will be effective from 31 March 2021 from the date of issue of notification.

This decision of Mr. Gehlot will make possible the disposal of pending stamp cases, and the cases pending in the court will also be reduced.  Also, the public will get relief from exemption in interest and penalty on stamp duty.

It is noteworthy that the state government had earlier also issued a special relief scheme for exemption in interest and penalty payable on stamp duty, the duration of which was till August 31, 2020.

Keeping in mind the impact of the Kovid-19 epidemic, it has been decided to implement Special Relief Scheme again.
