Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has exuded confidence that his party would attain majority in the 2014 general elections. In an interview to ETV, Rahul however accepted that the party-led UPA has made some mistakes during its 10 years regime. He was, however, quick to give credit to the Government for bringing various schemes.
“I also accept that the UPA has done many mistakes. But it had done work also. The Government has brought several game-changer schemes like MNREGA, Right to Food Bill, Right to Education,” Rahul said.
With lok Sabha elections underway, Rahul is leaving no stone unturned to highlight achievements and work done by the UPA.
Rahul also admitted that the UPA Government is facing anti-incumbency. He said, “10 years is not a small period. It is a long period. There is anti-incumbency.” Not leaving any opportunity to hit out at the Opposition, Rahul said, “This election is a fight between two ideologies. The Opposition is playing divisive politics.”
On being asked about reports pertaining to Priyanka Gandhi wanting to contest against BJP’s prime ministerial pick Narendra Modi, Rahul said, “Priyanka takes her own decisions.”
