Staff Reporter

The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a 29-year-old private detective in connection with the case in which phone call detail records (CDRs) of senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley and some other politicians and businessmen were being accessed illegally by a group of Delhi Police personnel and private detectives.

A senior police officer said that the accused has been identified as Arpit and he was arrested on Sunday night from his residence in South-West Delhi. He has been charged with liasioning on behalf of policemen for top private detective Anurag Singh.

So far 15 people have been arrested and still, several police personnel are under scanners. According to sources, more arrests are on the cards in this case with even some senior police officials coming under the scanner.

Four people —Delhi Police constable Arvind Dabas and three private detectives, Anurag, Neeraj, and Nitish — had been arrested for allegedly trying to obtain Jaitley’s CDR in February this year.
