PSPL Agra (North) candidate resigns from party

In a setback to Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) led by Shivpal Singh Yadav, its Agra (North) Assembly bypoll candidate Dilip Baghel resigned from the party on Monday.

The polling for the by-election was held on Sunday along with the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state.

In his resignation letter, Baghel has alleged that the party leaders did not cooperate with him in the bypolls.

He alleged that the area in which the party’s youth wing president resides, no one was deployed at the polling booths while the district party office-bearers did not participate in his electioneering.

The PSPL leaders denied the charges.

“I am resigning from all party posts with immediate effect,” Dilip Baghel said in the letter sent to Shivpal Yadav.

The bypoll to Agra (North) Assembly seat was necessitated following death of BJP MLA Jagan Prasad Garg.
