A 25-year-old pregnant woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside her rented accommodation at Delhi’s Tughlakabad area on Friday morning. A case was filed in the Govindpuri police station. The deceased identified as Arti shifted with her husband Nanhe (a street vendour) into the house in Tughlakabad a week ago. It was around 7 am that her landlady complained of some foul smell coming from Arti’s flat, police said.
“As the room was locked from inside, the landlady called her husband who could not be contacted. It was then that with the help of a duplicate key she opened the room and found the decomposed body of Arti,” said a police officer, adding, “She informed us.” Police has launched a hunt to nab Arti’s husband who is absconding. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The couple belongs from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, said police.
