A policeman was killed in a terrorist attack on a police party in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kulgam district late Saturday evening.
According to a tweet posted by the Jammu & Kashmir police, "Terrorists in the evening fired indiscriminately on a police party in Kulgam district. One policeman was injured in the attack & attained martyrdom".
The deceased policeman has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Wagay. According to locals in the area the policemen were diverting traffic in the area when terrorists targeted the police party in the area.
Security forces immediately rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area and launched a man hunt for the attackers behind the terror strike.
Meanwhile, firefight between terrorists and a joint team of security forces resumed in the Panghai forest belt of Thanamandi in Rajouri district on Saturday morning. The security forces had eliminated two LeT terrorists in the area on Friday.
