The BJP has worked out an extensive 15-day programme to celebrate and create awareness about its Government’s “achievements” of two years with all Union Ministers, MPs, party leaders and MlAs attending different events at the national level and Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick starting it by addressing a public meeting at Saharanpur in West Uttar Pradesh on May 26.

The party has constituted around 31 teams with each one of it comprising  one Cabinet Minister, one Minister of State , one National office-bearer, one MP, one State leader  who will be visiting at least six places, including those outside his region. Altogether, the leaders will visit 200 places.

BJP president Amit Shah will go to Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to Patna, Dehradun and Pathankot, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to Bhopal, lucknow and Amritsar, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Jaipur, Pune and Hyderabad and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to Kanpur.

“Most of the leaders will spend at least two nights in the places they visit and in the course, apprise people about the Government’s development progammes and ‘progressive and long term policies’ for the betterment of the people. Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled States will too join the events and functions marking two years of the Modi Government,” said BJP General Secretary Arun Singh.

Incidentally, the BJP is focusing big time on Uttar Pradesh, which goes to polls next year, by holding a slew of public and intellectual functions there.

BJP National Secretary and media in-charge Srikant Shama listed out a host of “achievements” of the BJP Government in the sectors of environment and forest, labour, employment, project clearance and increasing production in the critical areas.

Without referring to the odd-even scheme of the Delhi Government to check pollution in the national Capital, Sharma said, “The Government has decided to move to Euro six standards, skipping Euro five, by 2020 ahead of 2024 that will cut down automobile pollution by 90 per cent”. Towards this end, the Petroleum Ministry has invested Rs 60,000 crore in refineries.

The BJP leader said 2, 000 projects have been cleared by the Modi Government which had got stuck in UPA Government on account of objections relating to environment and forest. He listed out increased minimum wages for labourers, Mudra bank scheme where “34 per cent of the total loan” was disbursed to women, Prime Minister’s Direct to Bank Transfer schemes and crop insurance schemes launched by the Government.

“We have provided a corruption-free country,” Sharma said and referred to “Congress’ corruption” that allegedly had “drained” the country of its wealth.
