PM seeks views of Indian Diaspora on missions abroad

Keeping in tune with the practice of seeking public opinion on matters of governance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought suggestions from Indian diaspora on the services rendered by the missions abroad, their problems and complaints. He has also asked the diaspora to share their ideas to mark the first International Day of Yoga on June 21. PM will discuss the suggestions with the Indian envoys during the annual conference to be held between February 7 and 10. The conference will be PM’s first interaction with all Indian envoys collectively.

“Friends from the diaspora, share your inputs on certain aspects pertaining to our Embassies abroad,” Modi tweeted while seeking suggestions on MyGov website. “The inputs on the Embassies received through MyGov would be very valuable for the Conference of Heads of Mission, being held in February,” the PM said.

The Government is keen to have a pro-active approach towards addressing issues relating to the Indian diaspora, particularly in the missions in Middle East where a huge Indian migrant population is stationed for work.  Given the Government’s focus on attracting investments, “Make In India” is expected to remain in focus too.
