In a bid to intensify the agitation for the special category status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh the popular Telugu film star and fonder of Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday released a protest music album under the title of “Desh Bachao” (save the country) on the social media at Vijayawada.
The move was seen as a part of the stir created in Andhra Pradesh, following the success of the mass agitation in support of Jallikattu, which forced the State and the Central Government to bow before the public demand.
Though the Jana Sena party, through posters declared that the music album was a voice of protest against opportunistic, divisive and criminal politics, the album was mostly an attack on the Center over its failure to deliver on the promise of granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh following the bifurcation of the State. Originally the album was scheduled to be released on February 5 but Pawan Kalyan advanced the date in view of the protest program on January 26, source said.
