An alert sentry of Border Security Force (BSF) deployed along the International Border (IB) early Sunday morning foiled an infiltration bid by a group of infiltrators by eliminating their “guide” in Hiranagar sector of Jammu frontier.
According to BSF spokesman, “BSF jawans had detected suspicious movement of one person close to the international border around 7 am on Sunday”.
Taking advantage of the undulating ground, thick foliage and hazy weather conditions, the intruder had managed to cross the International boundary and intruded inside the Indian territory.
BSF spokesman said, “When BSF sentry challenged the intruder to stop, he tried to hid himself. To prevent him from retreating back in to the Pakistan territory, BSF sentry opened fire on the intruder killing him on the spot”.
Preliminary investigations revealed the intruder may have been acting as “guide” of the group of heavily armed infiltrators who may have been waiting on the other side for signal of clearance. BSF men later recovered the dead body of the intruder.
