Pakistan Army violated ceasefire agreement with India in the wee hours of Tuesday in Nowshera sector of frontier Rajouri district.
The ceasefire violation was first reported around 8.30 pm in laam battalion area and continued for about five hours.
Several forward posts in the area were targeted by the Pakistan Army to inflict maximum damage to these posts. In return the Indian Army strongly retaliated the fire to silence roaring Pakistan guns.
The Pakistan Army used 82 mm mortars to target the forward Indian posts. Some of the shells fell close to civilian areas in the direct line of fire and triggered fresh wave of terror among the locals.
Majority of local residents were in festive mood on account of festive season in the region. The border residents had recently returned to their homes and hearths after they were forced to shift to safer locations owing to fresh skirmishes between the Armies of the two neighbouring countries.
