On the eve of the festival of Eid, Pakistan Army resorted to indiscriminate firing along the line of Control in Naushera sector of Rajouri district. Pak Army had earlier violated ceasefire agreement early sunday morning in the same sector.
Pak Army not only targeted several forward posts in the area but also fired mortar shells to target civilian pockets. large number of people engaged in Eid festivities were affected and ran for cover.
Several hundreds camping in relief camps across Naushera were also gearing up to celebrate Eid with other displaced people.
Defence spokesman in Jammu said, Pak Army violated ceasefire agreement in Naushera around 6.30 am. The firing continued for over two hours. Firing in the same sector resumed later in the evening around 5.50 pm and was going on intermittently till the time of filing the report.
After the BAT strike in Poonch, Pak Army is desperately trying to push in small group of infiltrators inside the Indian territory.
