Owaisi slams Azam's move to take issue to UN

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi terming the move of the UP Minister Azam Khan to take the Dadri issue to UN as ‘dangerous’, has demanded the dismissal of the Samajwasdi party Government and imposition of the President’s  rule in the State. On Monday, the Muslim face of the Samajwadi party Azam Khan had sought the intervention of United Nations to look into the ‘miseries’ of minorities in India. In a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Khan also accused the RSS of planning to convert ‘secular and pluralistic India’ into a ‘majoritarian theocratic nation as Hindu Rashtra.’

“Azam Khan is making mockery of his own Government. His party Government has failed to dispense justice to its own people including the Muslims and he is seeking the intervention of the US for justice with the minorities. Azam Khan is a senior Minister in the SP Government, who never bothered to visit either the Muzaffarnagar nor Dadri and he wants Ban Ki Moon to deliver justice to the people of Muzaffarnagar and Dadri,” said Owaisi.

“I strongly condemn the move of Azam Khan to take the Dadri matter to an international forum. The SP Government to hide its own failure is playing a dangerous game and trying to internationalise our internal matter. Whatever happened at Dadri is our internal affair and domestic issue. We have the wisdom and the robust institutional framework to resolve all our conflicts and differences,” said the MIM MP adding, “the UP Government has singularly failed in its basic duty of providing safety and security to the life and property of the common citizens resulting in spate of incidents of communal conflict in the State.”

“If the BJP is hatching the conspiracy to vitiate the communal harmony and this party is behind all incidents of communal clashes including at Muzaffarnagar and Dadri, then where was the Samajwadi party-led State Government, why it failed to nab the trouble makers and maintain law and order,” asked Owaisi.

“Whether it is Dadri or Muzaffarnagar, at both the places State Government failed to discharge its basic duty of maintaining law and order. Azam Khan is the Muslim face of the Samajwadi party and he should shoulder the responsibility of providing security to the minority community,” said Owaisi. He said thousands of the victims of Muzaffarnagar riots are still running from pillar to post for justice. “Instead of  petitioning the UP he should care for the poor people of Muzaffarnagar who were forced out from their villages and are still in search for cover over their head,” said the MIM leader. Condemning the poor state of law and order in UP, the MIM MP from Hyderabad said, “UP Government should do its best to improve the law and order and ensure safety and security for each and every section of the society.
