Returning to JNU campus on his release from jail three weeks after his arrest, the university's students' union leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Thursday night said they are seeking freedom within the country and not from India. "Our fight is not against Bharat..We dont demand azadi (freedom) from Bharat but within Bharat from those who loot us," Kanhaiya amid cheering crowd and slogans of celebration for his release after HC order a day before.

He thanked everyone for support including students, teachers and workersof JNU and India.

Taking a jibe at the government and police, "I thank everyone including media and politicians who brought the focus on JNU in primetime. Our fight will continue for the under privileged of this country," said Kanhaiya.

He said he does not have any feelings of hatred towards ABVP for they were "more rational"than those outside JNU.

"Attack on JNU was planned but the voices which came out were spontaneous. The massive movement from JNU was spontaneous and successful," he added.

"I will tell you about my experience inside jail. I spoke to the policemen who all came from poor background and their parents were also farmers...I told them that we demanded azadi for the cause of farmers who committed suicide. He told me this is not anti national," kanhaiya said and added that another policeman asked him whether he will  shout azadi slogan again

or notIJ

"I said yes I will!"

Kanhaiya raised the slogans and requested the media to not play them "without

context".

However, there was no mention of azadi for Kashmir this time.
