Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar disagrees to agree with what Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has detailed in his letter to him few days ago. The Bihar Chief Minister also said that to end the political stalemate in Delhi re-poll was the only solution.

Nitish Kumar is likely to respond Shinde’s letter with all facts and figures in next few days. The Union Home Minister in his letter had cornered the Nitish Government for its failure to combat the Naxal problem in the State effectively.

“There is no objective analysis in the letter. We do not agree with what has been written in the letter,” said Nitish Kumar. He, however, admitted that the intensity in the Maoists attack have increased but not the number of attacks.

“But, it all does not corroborate the concerns raised in the letter,” he told mediapersons on the sidelines of his weekly janata darbar.

Nitish Kumar also said that he has asked the State Police headquarter to furnish all the details so that he could respond to the Union Home Minister’s letter in detail.

In his letter to the Bihar Chief Minister, Union Home Minister Suhsilkumar Shinde had took on the Bihar Government for its alleged failure in combating Maoists activities in the State saying there has been no coordination between State Police and Central forces in the State.

“Even coordination between the two neighbouring State Bihar and Jharkhand is not satisfactory on tackling the Maoists issue. The situation in the State has become alarming as far as Maoists activities are concerned,” the letter shot off to Nitish Kumar said.

The Union Home Minister in his letter had also advised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to examine the successful counter-insurgency methods of others States to combat Naxal problem and to follow such methods in his State as well.

On the persisting political stalemate in Delhi, the Bihar Chief Minister emphatically said that there should be re-poll in the State to end it the political deadlock.

“Whats wrong in it…even in Bihar two elections took place in 2005. Re-poll is only solution in Delhi,” he explained.

On asked on RJD chief lalu Prasad coming out of jail on Monday, Kumar refused to make any comment. “It’s a judicial process and not the political one. When he had gone to jail I’d not made any comment at that time and now also I’ll not offer any comment,” he said.

However, on the lokpal Bill, Nitish Kumar said he would welcome the Bill.

“We welcome the lokpal Bill and we’ll support it,” Nitish Kumar made the crisp comment. His party

Janata Dal-United has nine members in Rajya Sabha and 20 in lok Sabha.

He also dwelt on the significance of lokpal legislation and said that Bihar has already established a strong lokayukta in furtherance of this.

But, the Bihar Chief Minister refused to make any comment on AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s statement that the present lokpal Bill was weak and would not be in a position to send even a mouse to jail.

Taking on his political bete-noire, though without taking his name, the Bihar Chief Minister said that he (Narendra Modi) should spell out his views on substantial issues as sentimental issues have no consequence.

“A person named as prime ministerial candidate needs to make his views to public on substantive issues rather than on sentimental lines,” he said.

The Bihar Chief Minister even raised some issues which he sought to know from the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. “Whats your plan to uplift an economically poor State like BiharIJ What should be India’s relation with neighbouring countries and how to reclaim our land now under control of China and PakistanIJ asked Nitish Kumar.
