Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday came out in support for the Congress on its protest over the National Herald issue and said there should not be any vendetta in politics and Opposition should not be harassed.
“There should not be any vendetta in politics. In democratic system, mandate is given to work for the public. Public mandate is not to harass Opposition,” he said while talking to reporters outside Parliament. The party also vowed to support GST in the interest of the economy of the country.
Nitish, who had come to make a courtesy call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “when the Congress is saying something, then it must be well thought-out. I have no details. But when the Congress is saying so it must have some meaning, otherwise why the party will say soIJ” when asked for his reactions on the Herald issue.
He also said in such circumstances, the Government should clear the apprehensions in the mind of Congress.
“The Government has primary responsibility to run Parliament,” said the JD(U) leader when asked about the ongoing disruptions in the House.
