As part of the protests staged across Maharashtra against demonetisation, the NCP on Monday took out an ‘Jan Akrosh’ morcha at Bandra in north-west Mumbai.

While NCP’s State President Sunil Tatkare and his counterpart from Mumbai Sachin Ahir led the protest march in Mumbai, former deputy Chief Minister and senior party leader Ajit Pawar was in the forefront of a similar morcha in Pune. The NCP held simultaneous protests at Thane, Raigad, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Kolhapur, latur, Aurangabad, Beed, Osmanabad and several district and taluka headquarters across the State.

Addressing the party workers’ rally at Pune, Ajit Pawar castigated the Modi Government for causing tremendous inconvenience to ordinary people. “As many 61 days have passed since the Centre took the demonetisation decision, there is much of a change on the ground. The people continue to suffer. The Modi Government has brought out any black money as promised. Nor has it been able to bring down the prices of essential commodities,” he said.

Tatkare said that the people different walks of life-including farmers, labourers and small businessmen-continued top face untold bardships.
