Nadda to visit Tripura to reassess party strategy, strengthen alliance

PNS

In the backdrop of Trinamool Congress's recent attempt to expand its footprints from Bengal to Tripura, the BJP's national president J P Nadda will be visiting  Tripura  from January 10 to January 11 to reassess organisational strategy and enthuse party cadre.

Nadda is to address State executive and also sort out tribal differences between the BJP and its ally, Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura. The central leadership  is continuing  to back Chief  Minister as the State is to face Assembly poll in 2023.

BJP has recently  scored  decisive election victory in the local civic elections winning 329 of 334.

BJP is trying to thwart TMC from  wooing its MLAs in the State  as the latter has done in Bengal. TMC's aggressive moves in the state too would figure in the discussions during Nadda's two-day visit according  to central  functionaries.

The latest visit of Prime Minister to Tripura where he inaugurated an integrated terminal at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport this week is again part of the Central Government's increasing focus on the state which had been for decades a left bastion.
