BJP General Secretary JP Nadda has been appointed the secretary of BJP’s recently-reconstituted Central Election Committee (CEC) by party president Amit Shah, replacing Ananth Kumar. Party veterans lK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi have been replaced with young faces like MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Nadda.
Kumar, who is now a Union Minister held the position of Secretary of CEC since long. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu, Thawarchand Ghelot and Nitin Gadkari (all in the Government) are other members in the board. Ramlal, general secretary (Organisation) is also its member.
