Large number of Mata Vaisnho Devi bound pilgrims and regular commuters, travelling on the Jammu — Pathankot National Highway Friday faced many hardships due to opening of new toll plaza at Tarore in Samba district.
Due to poor management and lack of adequate facilities, motorists remained stranded for about 1-2 hours in long traffic jam on the busy highway.
Ironically, the staff stationed at the poll plaza was seen threatening motorists to dole out toll tax. Few among them who raised serious concerns while remaining stranded in the long jam were even abused, thrashed and slapped by the ‘goons’ stationed at the toll plaza. Earlier, the toll plaza was inaugurated by Ajay Kumar Rajak, Project Director NHAI in presence of officials of District administration, NHAI staff and others.
