Rubbishing the claims to the contrary made by the former Defence Estate Officer and Secretary of Adarsh Co-operative Housing Society RC Thakur, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Wednesday reiterated that the land on which the controversial 31-storey Adarsh building had been constructed at Colaba belonged to the Army.
Alluding to recent news reports quoting the claims made by Thakur that the Army had no records of any ownership of Block VI of Colaba Division on which the illegal Adarsh building stood, an MoD statement said: “The statement by RC Thakur, a former DEO and the Adarsh Society he represents, is misleading”.
