MNS chief Raj Thackeray, once a staunch admirer of Narendra Modi, on Thursday, took a dig at the Gujarat Chief Minister, saying that the latter should have resigned from his post the day he was nominated as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and that he should ‘focus’ on the entire country instead of confining himself to one State.
Addressing a Press conference at Nashik, Raj said, “I would like to reiterate that I respect the work Narendra Modi has done in Gujarat. I feel good about it. I had spoken about this in the past and I am saying the same thing even now. But, the day he was nominated as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Modi should have resigned as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. The Prime Minister should be of the entire country and not of one particular State. He should treat all States equally. I would like Modi to consider my point of view”.
