The authorities in Jammu & Kashmir handed over a detained militant commander to National Investigating Agency (NIA) to probe his role in alleged hawala transactions.

Sources said Talib Hussain lali, a militant arrested from Bandipora district of north Kashmir on September 4 was lodged in Sub Jail Baramulla. He was wanted by the NIA for his involvement in hawala transactions. The NIA team had court directions for lali’s transit whose name figures in case diaries of 2011 on channels of funding to the militant outfit.

The funding from across the border has been routed through Jammu & Kashmir Affectees Relief Trust, a frontal organisation of Hizb, says the NIA. The Trust has been formed to take care of the families of slain militants and sustain surviving cadres. lali was dubbed to be the longest surviving militant of Kashmir who was held along-with his two associates 13 Rashtriya Rifles and State police.
