In wake of rude behaviour of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel, scribes from electronic as well as print media on Monday boycotted his Press conference in Ahmedabad.
PAAS convener Patel had called a Press conference in the morning at around 11.30 am at a restaurant to announce his future plan of action after the State Government foiled his ‘Ekta Yatra’ by arresting him from Surat on September 19. later on, he had announced to suspend the Ekta March till peace restore in the State and also appealed people to cooperate with police to maintain law and order situation.
On Monday, invited members of media reached at the hotel at given time. However, Hardik arrived nearly 45 minutes late. When members of media asked him why was he late, the PAAS convener instead of apologising to mediapersons, he arrogantly answered that it (Press conference) would be done like this, if you don’t like, you are free to leave.
Aghast with such a rude reply, instantly mediapersons decided to walkout and boycott the Press conference. Some of them also tore the Press release distributed by PAAS workers.
Meanwhile, nearly 4,000 unidentified people including 1,000 women mostly PAAS supporters have been booked by police in Ahmedabad on charges of rioting.
in Ahmedabad for creating unrest after the detention of Hardki Patel on Saturday. Already a court in Mahesana sent 36 agitating Patidars to jail in the case of rioting.
Again split between the two major factions PAAS and Sardar Patel Group (SPG) surfaced following a statement of SPG leader Jigar Patel saying that stubborn attitude of PAAS convener is detrimental to ongoing pro-quota agitation of Patidars. He went on to say that Hardik shouldn’t use Patidar agitation for his personal gains. Following the turbulent week-end, by and large peace restored in the State as no untoward incident recorded on the day.
