A 35-year-old man was on Monday stabbed to death allegedly by his wife and her brother-in-law in Usmanpur area of east Delhi. The woman has been detained while her brother-in-law, with whom she was allegedly having an affair with, is on the run, police said. The incident came to light early morning when neighbours of the victim, identified as Dilip, were drawn to his house by wails of his wife Shanti but called police after getting no response.
Police broke open the locked door and found Dilip lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Shanti initially claimed that Dilip dies after falling from the stairs, however, police suspected her version as the victim’s body bore external injuries. “Deep wounds were noticed on his chest and head indicating some weapon was used,” a police officer said.
Further investigation revealed that the couple had been having quarrels for nearly two years over the stay of Shanti’s brother-in-law Satender at their house. Dilip had suspected that Shanti was having an affair with Satender. In another incident, retired Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) employee, Ratan Singh (42) was found murdered at his house on Sunday night. Police suspect the involvement of his tenant Manoj Kumar in the murder, who was captured fleeing the house in the CCTV camera installed outside the victim’s house.
