A man allegedly killed a 15-year-old boy, following a petty dispute between his son and the deceased in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused, who apparantly had a criminal record, was later lynched by the agitated neighbours on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, 15-year-old Pankaj Gupta, a resident of Ahemi locality of Pihani in Hardoi had a dispute with 14-year-old Shivam when they both were playing with other children of the locality on Tuesday evening. The matter was put to rest after some neighbours intervened and asked both the boys to play together and not to fight over trivial issues.

However, the matter took an ugly turn when Shivam’s father Virendra, who was history-sheeter  intercepted Pankaj on his way to college. Virendra reportedly hurled abuses on Pankaj and later opened fire on him for daring to fight with his son. Some neighbours who rushed out of their homes after hearing gun shot found Pankaj lying in a pool of blood. As they learnt that it was Virendra who shot the boy, they chased the criminal, nabbed him and brutally assaulted him with sticks and rods till the police arrived at the crime scene.
