A minor girl was allegedly molested by her 31-year-old neighbour in South-East Delhi's Jamia Nagar area on Saturday. The victim's mother, however, approached the police on Monday after which the accused was arrested.
The alleged incident took place at Okhla Vihar village of Jamia Nagar on Saturday evening. The four-and-a-half year-old victim was playing outside with her younger brother when the accused, Adnan, noticed her. He then allegedly lured the two to his house by offering them chocolates. He locked his house from inside and started undressing the girl and kept her brother busy by offering chocolates.
However, the accused panicked and released them when the victim and her brother started crying loudly. The victim narrated the entire incident to her mother but Adnan’s house was locked. The mother, however, only reported the incident when she noticed Adnan again eyeing his daughter.
The accused has been booked under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) and relevant Sections of the IPC. He was caught off-guard when the police team arrived at his residence. Police are interrogating Adnan to check if more children have been victimized by him in a similar manner.
