The Mumbai Police tracked down and arrested one person on early Tuesday, within hours after he made an anonymous call to the Mumbai Police headquarters and allegedly handed death threats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

The caller, who had dialled the city police control room number late on Monday night, also threatened to blow up the government-run Sir J. J. Hospital in south Mumbai.

Acting swiftly, the Azad Maidan Police managed to track down the caller and arrested him from Sion in north-central Mumbai in the early hours of Tuesday.

Identifying the caller as one Kamran Khan, the police said that he had been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The police are investigating the motive behind the threat calls.
