Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has become a veritable "bhatakti atma” (a rootless soul)and has been reduced to a state of such triviality that even the politically trivial parties like the Congress dared to humiliate her in the Nehru centenary celebrations in Delhi, Bengal BJP president Rahul Sinha said on Thursday.

"Once such a powerful leader, Mamata Banerjee had never looked so helpless as she appeared to be during the Nehru centenary celebrations" Sinha said reminding how "she was ignored by those to whom she went for solace."

launching a massive broadside against the Chief Minister, the BJP leader said that "Mamata Banerjee has become politically insignificant because she has pushed her own State into a state of insignificance."

In a no-holds-barred attack on the Chief Minister, the State BJP president said she was once again trying to befool the people by making false statements that she would resign if proven guilty in the Saradha case. "Who is she to make such commentsIJ If she is found guilty she will be forced to resign because she will not be able to rule from the place where she will then be sent to. Hence she is making such statements to once again befool the people", Sinha said wondering "why she did not offer to resign earlier. She knows that her days are numbered and so she is making such statements."

On why she was making unscheduled visits to various addresses in Delhi, Sinha said, "She knows her position now. She knows that the end is near and so she is knocking on doors to save her skin and her men.
