After the Dhulagarh incident where the administration allowed a particular community to ransack about 60 houses of another community, forcing them to flee , the Mamata Banerjee Government seems to have added yet another “pseudo secular” feather to its cap. This time the Bengal Government has allegedly blocked an event which could have highlighted Pakistani atrocities in Balochistan province of that country. Tarik Fateh, the Balochistan-born activist writer, who was scheduled to speak in the seminar called “the Saga of Balochistan, What the World Needs to Know” is known to have accused the State Government for forcing the police to presurise the pedigree club where it was to be held so that it was called off at the nick of the moment.
The programme was to be held on January 7. The Kolkata Police officials however denied the accusations.
