Make quota stand clear by July 30, Hardik tells Cong

PNS

Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) convenor Hardik Patel on Friday gave ultimatum to Opposition Congress in Gujarat to make its stand clear on reservation policy of the party by July 30.

Apparently, the ultimatum has been issued in wake of upcoming Assembly polls in the State. The 24-year-old Patidar community leader said that no political outfit including that of Congress should take Patel community for granted. If Congress is contesting against the ruling BJP, the party has to clarity its stand, said Hardik.

Patel went on to say that Gujarat Congress has to come clean on the issue of Shankersinh Vaghela for leader of Opposition in Assembly. He was mentioning on rumour over internal conflicts of Vaghela and Gujarat Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki.

The convenor of organisation leading Patel quota stir in the State — PAAS, who had earlier said that he could look at appealing his supporters to vote Congress, is now ambiguous in his approach, given the internal disarray in the Congress party. PAAS leader is also going to initiate fresh round of agitation beginning Saturday. He is expected to lead a 35-km long road show in rural villages surrounding Gondal town in Saurashtra.

PAAS is demanding reservation for Patidar youth in government jobs and educational institutions under OBC category. Preparation for the road show is in final stages. It would be held from Gomta village to Dardi, culminating in a public meeting. Patel is slated to reach Gomta in the afternoon and will traverse villages on the way to Dardi.
