PNS

With the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, which is only 16 months away, in mind, senior BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah will  visit 11 states this month as part of his party's "Lok Sabha Prawas" programme, aimed at consolidating the voter base of the party across all the constituencies, particularly the weaker ones.

Shah is scheduled to be in Tripura on January 5 and Manipur and Nagaland on January 6. He will be travelling to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand on January 7 and Andhra Pradesh on January 8. Thereafter, according to sources,  the Home Minster  will be in Uttar Pradesh on January 16, in West Bengal on January 17 and at Hubli in Karnataka on January 28.

He will be in the northern states of Haryana and Punjab on January 29,  they said. The party had earlier identified 160 seats, most of which it had lost in 2019, where it believes it can be in a winning position by strengthening its organisation and social base. The BJP has been regularly holding strategy sessions of  senior leaders from the states  to strengthening  the ‘booth management’ across the country.

After the assembly poll results  in Gujarat and  Himachal Pradesh on December 8 with BJP winning a record  156 seats in Gujarat , BJP president J P Nadda  had asked  party’s state leaders to learn from  the strategy crafted by  Gujarat BJP chief C R Patil and “ implement his model” to maximize results in the coming assembly polls as also in the Lok Sabha elections.

Recently,  Shah and Nadda held a crucial meeting at the party office with the Union Ministers who are cluster in-charge, in view of the upcoming 2024 general elections and  discussed their  ground zero report. The Union ministers have been bestowed the responsibility to stay in 160 seats  where BJP is weak but are ‘winnable’ .

Each of the Union Ministers have been given the responsibility of two constituencies while some were given three constituencies the last time, in which they were asked to stay in a seat for three days each, and reach out to the locals.

On May 25, Shah and  Nadda had launched the `Lok Sabha Pravas` campaign with an objective to strengthen the party at the booth level in Lok Sabha seats across the country.
