Panic created at Khodiyarpara area of Rajkot following a live timer bomb found there on Tuesday morning.
Police received an anonymous call regarding a suspicious object was lying on the roadside in the area situated on busy 150 feet ring road. Reacting on war footing, a team of cops including bomb disposal squad members reached there and successfully defused the bomb.
“It was a live timer bomb concealed in a box. We found two gelatine sticks attached with motorcycle battery and a clock. Immediately our team members defuse it and averted possible causalities as Khodiyarpara area is considered as crowded,” said bomb disposal squad PSI KN Parmar, after examining the bomb and material used into it, the expert came to conclusion that if the bomb would have exploded, it could have caused severe damage in 100 meter diameter areas surrounding it.
The police have initiated probe to find out responsible persons for planting
the bomb and to dig out motive behind it.
